Insights from the wonderful designer Nicola
Describe the clientele you design for…
When designing, the bride I have in mind can be anything from ‘Timeless Elegance’ to ‘Carefree Dreamers’ which allows me to create lots of gorgeousness in every dress.
What is your most popular piece?
‘Artistry’ from our new Whimsical Beauty Collection has certainly turned heads with the most beautiful hand-painted silk organza ballgown skirt, a truly magical design.
What advice would you give to brides-to-be?
I believe visiting a boutique for one of our Designer Days is the very best to get the most from your search for your dream dress. It is the perfect opportunity to have a unique and personal service in choosing the most important dress you will ever wear.
As a designer, what tips do you have for brides to get the most out of their fittings?
Wear nude coloured underwear and make sure it is comfortable!
Do you offer a custom design service for brides? If so, how long does it take to make a custom piece?
We can custom make all our gowns and do this all the time. I am always impressed by a brides own ideas based on our designs. Generally to customise a design will take slightly longer, as pattern construction and hand finishing will add to the process. Laura will be able to give you the most amazing advice on this in BOW, because we have worked together for so long…
What advice do you give to brides to care for their gown?
After the wedding we recommend brides to bring the dress to a specialist bridal dry cleaner and once it has been properly cleaned, we suggest them to store it in the same garment bag they receive in the store when they purchase the dress. Another option is to gift-wrap the dress in a box with acid free paper. Again Laura and her team can give you lots of advice on this and provide you with recommendations on where to go to have your gown skilfully preserved after your brilliant day!
