This week we are featuring our Suzanne Neville bride Jill who got married at Carlowrie Castle in Edinburgh. Her amazing photos were by Jade Osborne Photography.

Tell us about the dress

I instantly fell in love with my wedding dress after trying countless ones on and never actually being certain on what I wanted. My only specification was for a detachable train so that I could be a fairytale Princess in the day and then take it off to have a slender, elegant lace fitted for the evening.

How did you choose your venue?

Carlowrie Castle
Being the biggest Disney fan ever, it was a dream to have a castle for our wedding day. Carlowrie Castle was the one for us before we even drove up the magical drive way. Its beautiful grounds and exterior are stunning, but our favourite part was the modern and luxurious decor inside. Our guests kept saying how it is “Very Luke & Jill”.

How did you choose your photographer?

We found our photographer on Instagram and loved her pictures.

Who did your hair and makeup?

Make up- Rachael Hunter
Hair- Elaine Millar

What kind of cake did you choose?

Liggys Cakes- 3 tier lined icing cake.
Champagne, Vanilla and chocolate layers. We tried a sample at the Scottish wedding exhibition and booked it there and then.

How did you feel walking down the aisle and during the ceremony?

A fairy tale, magical, dream come true. Perfect from start to finish.
Being able to kiss Luke when we were pronounced Husband and Wife was amazing. I felt like all my dreams had come true.

What was the funniest moment of the day?

My Dad – bless him was nervous with his speech and said that Luke was born in 1997 when he was born in 1987. I tried to correct him quietly in his ear, but he stumbled again and said … Sorry 1998 so thankfully everyone knew it was a stumble, but Luke loved it as he always likes to be complimented that he looks younger than me. He’s been told he looks 24 before!!

Highlight of the day

I loved every second of the ceremony it was everything and more than I could have ever imagined. From the instrumental Disney music that created the perfect fairy tale vision in my head to actually walking down the aisle and seeing Luke. The lady Margaret who conducted our ceremony was an absolute delight. She made it absolutely about us and kept to everything we had asked her to say which brought tears to all our guests.
