This wedding is divine and the photos, oh wow! Georgina and Ritchie’s wedding was at Tylney Hall in August 2016, with Naomi Kenton taking the stunning photos.
Tell us about your dress
My beautiful dress was by Pronovias! I found it as dress number 4 in my very first dress shop – BOW!!!! It was even more than I could ever have imagined!! I wanted lace, something to cover my arms, beautiful and delicate. I had originally pictured a slim fitting bottom half of the dress but this didn’t suit me and as soon as I tried on ‘my dress’ I fell in love and just knew it was the one!!
How did you choose your venue?
My husband told me about Tylney Hall and both days that we went to visit – it was pouring with rain. However, we still booked despite this as we fell in love with it and I knew that if I loved it in the rain, it could only ever be even more beautiful! I used to want to get married on the Isle of Wight when I was growing up as it was where I was from – but this just completely stood out and the day couldn’t have been more perfect!
What was your wedding theme and how did you create it?
We didn’t have a theme as such but I was really keen to have something pretty, natural, relaxing, fairly traditional and sophisticated. I was also really keen for every creative person working with us (e.g florist, photographer etc) to have flex and a big input into what we had on the day. As a result I left Anna, our florist, to decide on design and how the flowers would look after we had chosen our colours and table stands. She did an amazing job and I trusted absolutely everyone we worked with completely.
What was your first dance?
Our first dance was ‘Love me like you do’ by Ellie Golding but we requested the band to play it instead! We didn’t hear it prior to the evening but it was fantastic when they played it (other than mine and my husbands two left feet)!
What is your top tip?
Biggest tip for me would have been to stop worrying on the day that you aren’t spending enough time with people, talking to people etc. I tried my best to speak to absolutely everyone, including people I had never met before, and felt awful that I was only with some of them for 1/2 minutes. But, everyone understands that it just isn’t possible to spend long with anyone on the day – so take the time to spend some of it with your husband! It got quite late in the day and I realised we hadn’t had a chance to look back and reflect. But all of this is only positive because it made me realise even more how lucky we were to have such wonderful people around us!!!
What was the highlight of your day?
So hard to highlight the best part of the day!!! Without a doubt, waiting behind the doors and walking into the ceremony room and seeing my husband standing there was a feeling I couldn’t describe, but I also had another lovely moment when I was sitting down at dinner and hearing my dad’s speech, thinking how lucky I was to have everyone that I loved all together in one room. Not only that, but to hear how proud my father was and to also see how much my family loved my husband – really special and something I never thought I would be lucky enough to find!
Thank you so much Georgina for sharing.
