We are delighted to share the beautiful wedding of Amy and Rob who married on 22 June 2019 at Froginwell Vineyard Devon. Photos by Philly & Alan @ Wildtideweddings photography.
Tell us about finding the dress
I visited Brides of Winchester with my sister after being recommended to the shop by a friend. While I wasn’t one of those girls who had always dreamt of having a specific style of dress, I thought I knew what I wanted. On my first visit Vicki encouraged me to try on lots of different styles- many of which I would never have had the imagination to try on. I think I must have tried on about 8 in total. After seeing how I reacted to each dress, Vicki then brought out a Nicola Anne full lace sleeveless dress, telling me to “try it on and trust her”! With Vicki’s suggestions we transformed the base of the dress, adding a lighter chiffon skirt, pinching in the waist and adding 3/4 lace sleeves to suit my frame. The shape felt so right and I knew it was the one for me.
How did you choose your venue
Froginwell Vineyard, Woodbury Salterton Devon. Rob and I met at school in Exeter, and as such, we knew from the outset that our wedding venue would be in Devon as it is a special plae for us both. We wanted a relaxed and airy venue, with lots of outdoor space and countryside views. As soon as we set foot in Froginwell Vineyard we knew it was for us. Kate and the team immediately made us feel at ease, and the space felt perfect – cosy corners for drinks, outdoor terraces for games and a quirky dance floor with a full size steam engine (that the barn had been built around!)
What was your first dance?
We chose Is This Love by Bob Marley. It was a fairly last minute choice, only deciding on it a week before the wedding in sufficient time to tell the band!- We loved the sentiment of it and felt it summed us up perfectly
Top tip(s) for other brides
Enjoy the run up to the wedding. It is such a special time, but at times it does feel quite stressful. Make sure you take a step back, remember the reason why you’re doing it and just enjoy:)
Turning around to walk back out of the church to see all our friends and family smiling and clapping. Walking into the church is so emotional you don’t realise everyone is there and its so special to see everyone in your world in one place.
Thank you so much for sharing
