* Tell us about the dress
Daisy by Chanticleer.
This was the 4th dress I tried on- and I had admired it online for a very long time! I absolutely loved it the moment I tried it on, it was the daisies the did it! After trying it on at a fitting, I asked to try it with a hoop and it then made the dress perfect! Detail and poof just like I wanted 🙂
Everyone at BOW was so happy, patient and kind when finding the dress and really helped it making everything perfect. It was great that I felt like I treated like a special bride even though this is their day job, so thank you!
* How did you choose your venue
After several attempts at trying to find a nice play to stay in Weston Super Mare for my husbands birthday a few years ago- we finally came to Cadbury House. The views were stunning, food was gorgeous and we just loved how away we felt! We even saw a beautiful wedding happen. So after several trips back, it made it an easy choice to decide to get married here!
* How did you choose your photographer
After trying to look at many photographers, we realised we really wanted someone who understood us and would keep the wedding casual like we wanted. My work friend told me about her amazing brother and as soon as we met him we knew he right for us! He completely understood what we would like and made us feel at ease. We could see his style was just like we wanted, being able to capture special moments and get people relaxed in photos! It really felt like he was one of our guests and we abosutlrly love our photos 🙂
* What was your wedding theme and how did you create it
We were going to get married abroad so our theme was beach. However after finding out venue we changed our mind. After I found my dress ‘Daisy’, it was then clear to me that I’d love daisies to be the theme- as LOVE yellow (yellow car and obsession from birth!) once this was decided it was then easy to link everything else!
* What flowers did you choose?
Kimberleys Florist .
We chose yellow tulips for the bridesmaids. We had gypsophelia and big daisies for the button holes.
I LOVED my bouquet- I had gyp, tanacetum, yellow soldor, craspedia, Margarit daisies, yellow roses, euco and ruscus. It was beautiful and really brought colour into the day and photos!
* About the cake
We were so lucky to have family- my mother and sister in law, who are super at making cakes! After yummy trials- we had some delicious cupcakes made with vanilla or lemon icing on top- and of course daisies on top. They looked incredible and we really appreciated all of the hard work put in. It made it even more special that our family did it for us!
* How did you feel on the morning? Walking down the aisle and during the ceremony
I felt incredibly nervous on the morning! I had a late ceremony (3pm) so it felt like I didn’t had to rush too much. I was lucky to have my amazing MOH with me at all times who kept my nerves in check while our hair and make up was getting done. When I was left alone for final make up- a work friend- Emma Rivers, was when I welled up- think I realised the day and time was finally here! Lucky Emma was great for calming me down and still making me look great!
I was really excited walking and waiting behind my flower girl, page boy, MOH and bridesmaid- listening to the music! As soon as I got to the aisle though- I welled up again! Seeing all my friends and family was just lovely and of course my handsome husband to me smiling from ear to ear! During the ceremony, it felt really intimate as I only had 35 guests. My dad and father in law did some lovely readings and me and my husband were just holding hands and grinning all the way through 🙂
* What was your first dance?
Still into you by Julia Sheer (a Paramore original)
Not to worry too much about the little details such as chair covers and music- as the day just flies by. So along with that- just like I was advised- really try to enjoy the day- what will be, will be! Appreciate every moment and get lots of videos- just from guests! It has been wonderful to look back on the day through different eyes!
So hard to choose! I loved it when we were actually official and were just about to walk back down the aisle/(into reception too!) as the new Mr and Mrs! Such a great feeling!
I also loved just sitting outside on the balcony with my close family and friends in the evening and thinking everyone is here for us. Some great time talking to my Dad whilst looking at the views.
