This week we are featuring stunning Holly in the exquisite Melody by Suzanne Neville. Holly’s wedding was on 12th August 2017 at  St Mary’s Church, Alderbury followed by Newhouse Estate, Redlynch both in Wiltshire. Her amazing photos are by Novo Weddings

Tell us about the dress

My dress was the absolutely stunning Melody by Suzanne Neville. The search for my dress began by flicking through bridal magazines. I noticed Suzanne Neville and instantly felt like she could be the designer for me. I went online and viewed her latest catwalk show and that is when Melody walked down the runway. As soon as I saw the beautiful fabric and romantic lines I knew it was the dress for me. I loved the way the dress was so fitted on the top yet so dramatic at the bottom. Then when the model turned around I was completely sold when I saw the high lace back and long train. My next job was to find the dress and that’s when BoW came into my life.

I went to my first fitting with my 3 bridesmaids and I was so excited to see the dress. When Hayley at BoW brought Melody out I knew that it was the one. The fabric was even more beautiful in real life and I fell in love. However, I didn’t want to rule out any other dresses so I let Hayley and the girls pick out lots of other options to try before ending with Melody.

When I put the dress on for the first time I immediately felt like a bride and each time I went back to have fittings the feeling got better and better. The highlight for me was the final fitting a week before the big day when I tried on my dress and it was the perfect fit. I remember feeling complete excitement that I was going to wear it again on the best day of my life.

How did you choose your venue?

We always knew we were going to get married in Alderbury church so the search for the venue began by looking on around and seeing what was nearby. Newhouse Estate appeared and I couldn’t believe how perfect it seemed. It is a beautiful country estate set within vast acres of grounds with a long gravel driveway and a lake amongst the woodland. It ticked every box for the wedding so within a couple of weeks it was booked!

How did you choose your photographer

We opted for Novo Weddings as they had photographed various friends’ weddings and so we knew they would be good! It was the perfect choice as we knew how good they were and exactly what to expect. Another plus was that they photographed one of our best friend’s wedding in May so we were able to meet them again and by the time our wedding came around in August we felt so comfortable around them which made the whole process so easy and fun.

Who did your hair and makeup and where did you find them

The very talented Marie Kelly did my hair and makeup and I am so lucky as she is not only award winning but she is one of our closest friends. Marie won several awards in The British Hair and Makeup Awards so I knew she was going to do a fantastic job. I wanted my hair to be a romantic up do that was dramatic but still neat and for my makeup I went for big eyes and flawless skin. I felt like a princess and Marie is completely to thank for that. She was so calm on the morning and the fact that she is a friend made the whole experience so relaxing!

What flowers did you choose?

The theme of our wedding was romantic elegance so it was important that our flowers reflected this. I always knew that I wanted roses as they are one of my favourite flowers so we ended up going for a mix of different roses for the bouquet and then hydrangeas, gypsophila and eucalyptus everywhere else. Our florist exceeded our expectations and created the most beautiful arrangements that we couldn’t ever have imagined. I couldn’t get over how many roses were in my bouquet and the sheer weight of it alone!! They really did create the sophistication that we wanted to achieve.

How did you feel on the morning? Walking down the aisle and during  the ceremony

On the morning of the wedding I was surprisingly calm! I had expected to be a lot more anxious and nervous but instead was on a massive high. The night before, we all met at the church to have the rehearsal and I was really nervous. I remember going to sleep and just thinking that I didn’t want to let anyone down on the day with my anxiety and nerves. But when I woke up this had all gone and I was just bouncing around the house excited to get ready. The feeling just got better and better as one by one my bridesmaid hair and makeup was finished, then it was my turn and I remember just feeling so excited when I put my dress on I couldn’t stop smiling!

Walking down the aisle was amazing, we walked to Canon in D and it felt like a dream. Seeing Tom at the end of the aisle was such an indescribable feeling of complete and utter love. The whole ceremony was one of my favourite parts of the whole day and funnily enough it was what I was most nervous of!

What was your first dance?

Our first dance was ‘Everything but the girl – Didn’t know I was looking for love’. The band performed it and it was just magical, they sang it perfectly and we were both so happy we couldn’t stop grinning at each other.

What was the funniest moment of the day

The funniest moment of the day by far was the speeches, they were incredible!! I knew my Dad’s would be good because he did such a great job at my sisters but the surprise of the day was my husband. His speech was hilarious! He went for the perfect mix of emotion and funny story telling – his hilarious account of when we first met had the whole room in stitches. I felt sorry for the best men who had to follow him but then they did such a fantastic job as well that by the end we had been lucky enough to witness 3 of the best speeches I’ve ever seen!  I laughed so much and it was so memorable.

Highlight of the day

The highlight of the day was the fireworks. We had a beautiful 5 minute long firework display that was over the lake in the grounds of the venue, but the best part was that the firework supplier had set them to our favourite piece of music from the firework display at Epcot in Disneyworld. So it was absolutely magical! I felt like I was a little girl at Disney and that all my dreams had come true – cliché I know!!! When the fireworks were in full swing I found myself dancing with my arms in the air, they were just so perfect and the perfect end to the perfect day.
