This week we are featuring our Pronovias bride Donna who got married at Sopley Church with a reception at The Woolpack Pub in Sopley.

Tell us about the dress

My dress was Odilia by Pronovias. I knew as soon as I saw the dress on the hanger that it was the one I wanted. It was surprisingly hard to find anything that was simple but had personality and didn’t have any boning or too much structure. It was perfect for the relaxed style wedding we wanted.

How did you choose your venue?

We wanted to find somewhere that was close to home and our family and friends would be comfortable and didn’t feel like another wedding venue. Harry used to work at The Woolpack Pub in Sopley when he was younger so we had a historic tie and loved that it was the perfect size for the number of guests we wanted. A cosy country pub was just the style of wedding we had in mind.

How did you choose your photographer?

We found our Photographer Charlotte via Instagram and just loved her natural unstaged photos. Neither of us like having our photo taken but she just made us feel totally at ease and we were so happy with our photos.

Who did your hair and makeup and where did you find them?

My makeup was by I met Kirsty locally at a lifestyle shop where she was hosting an event on make up skills. She used great products and didn’t just offer one style of make up which meant she could adapt to me and my bridal parties styles.

What flowers did you choose?

We chose natural seasonal flowers and just wanted them to be un fussy and let our florist Maria (simply flower) create and surprise us.

How did you feel on the morning? Walking down the aisle and during the ceremony?

I was completely relaxed until the moment I walked into the Church and had to take a few deep breaths when I realised all eyes were on me and I was in the moment rather than just thinking about it. Seeing my friends and family all together in one place was the best feeling.

What was the funniest moment of the day?

Probably when my sister decided to climb through the window to get onto the dance floor as quickly as possible. I think there may have ended up being a tear in her dress. It was worth it tho!….

What was your first dance?
Elton John – Benny and the Jets

Highlight of the day

The whole day was amazing from start to finish. I don’t think I could pin point one specific moment.
