At Brides of Winchester, bridal boutique, we love supporting British made and local businesses. So today we would like to share with you our lovely local jewellery maker Tracy Rees of White Designs, who as well as being very talented is also the nicest lady you could meet.

Tracy lovingly hand-makes all her beautiful jewellery from her home studio just outside the New Forest. As they are all handmade, brides have the option to make changes to the pieces such as changing the crystal colour or designing matching pieces for their bridesmaids. At our boutique we have a large number of Tracy’s headpieces available to try on and buy, or you can visit the White Design website or studio.

Formerly a stay-at-home mum, White Designs all started when Tracy was chief bridesmaid for her cousin eight years ago. “My cousin had bought her tiara and paid a fortune for it, but couldn’t find any nice ones for the bridesmaids. I had studied art and fashion at college so I thought I would have a go at making one. My cousin was pleased with it and everyone was commenting on it on her wedding day. They said it was wonderful and that I should go into business making them.” And as they say, the rest is history!

For Tracy there really is nothing more important than the finishing touches for a bride’s outfit on her big day. “I think things like tiaras, hair accessories and jewellery are as important as the dress because a bride’s face is in every photo. They just finish the whole look off perfectly.”
